Work is horrible at the moment. There's far too much unnecessary politics going on and I just found out that a couple of people I thought I got on with have been talking behind my back.

There is absolutely no way that I'm going to finish my SGA BigBang on time. When I signed up for it, I thought I would have plenty of time once my dissertation was out of the way, but as usual other issues arose. I'm going to keep working on it though and post when I've finished. Now things have settled down a bit, I'm hoping to have more time for writing in general.

And to finish on a positive note:

I'm no good at long reports (my memory is terrible), but it was fantastic. The pair of them were so funny together in the Q & A; I laughed for two hours, and by the end my cheeks hurt from grinning so much. I got a picture with each of them and an autograph from them both too. They were really good about staying until everyone had their autographs. I did miss my coach, but it was worth it in the long run.

I also met up with

ionaoniewhich was fun (the first person from LJ that I've met in RL, so I was a bit nervous), and some other people whose names I can't remember, but who were all very nice.

Current Location: new house

I'm currently working on an `Atlantis Separates from Earth` fic and need someone to discuss it with. I need to go over the major world-building type details and make sure that everything makes sense. I would also like to make sure that I haven't inadvertantly stolen anything from other stories of this type, so I thought this would be the best place to ask.

Basically I'm looking for a pre-beta reader, someone to discuss my ideas with.

Details:

It started out as a tiny little kidfic to make myself feel better about the massive amounts of coursework I had left to do. Then it turned into not such a feel good kidfic. And then I started asking questions...(never a good idea if you ever want to get something finsihed).

It will in some most points be McShep. This is my main pairing, and it used to be focused on the relationship, but then other things started jumping out and shouting `look at me, look at me`, so I'm not sure how major the relationship will be now.

There is a child involved in some of it. This child is not biologically related to either Sheppard or McKay. There is no MPreg.

This is set post season 3. One of the issues I'm trying to iron out, is how to fit aspects of Season 4 into it without making certain character changes.

Anyone who can help will earn my eternal gratitude and huge thank you's (pick your font size) if I ever manage to get any part of this monster posted.

I've just found out from the wonderful and incredibly useful comm,

words_count that today is National Coming Out Day!!! In light of this (which I'm sure most of you already knew), I think a challenge is in order!!! So here begins the:

National (Globabl) Coming Out Challenge

Do John and Rodney coming out to each other? What happens when they Tell family/friends? What happens when Don't Ask, Don't Tell is repealled (as we all know it should be)? Does everyone already know? Does Rodney break Katies heart?

These are questions that can never have to many answers.

As everyone knows the weekend really begins on Thursday (I'm a student), I propose that this challenge lasts until Monday morning, so everyone can spend the weekend discovering John and Rodney's love.
